Coach is all set to launch a full-fledged American fashion house this month!

Yes, you heard it right! A full-fledged fashion house with racks of trendy clothes, modish Coach’s bags, patchworked leather jackets and vests, as well as tops, dresses and skirts printed with vivid and intensely hued prairie floral, with the label COACH 1941 on it – at New York’s Opening Ceremony, held at Colette in Paris. This fashion opening will be a platform for many labels and fashion brands including some of the best European labels, luxury retailers Jeffery and Saks Fifth Avenue in New York, Luisaviaroma in Florence, and Lane Crawford in Hong Kong to exhibit their brand collection in the mass-market.

“It has the potential to drive sales and really make [Coach] a total brand, as opposed to just a handbag brand,” says Robert Burke, CEO of retail consultancy Robert Burke Associates, of Coach 1941.

According to the reports, the owners of the brand have been observing a change in the brand’s recent earnings. The CEO of the company, Victor Luis noted that there has been a major cut down in the promotions for introducing new designs in the market.

There has been a 5% increase in the purchase of Coach’s handbags worth $400. The sales have gone up to 35% from 30% since last year.

Meanwhile, Coach 1941 designer Stuart Vevers said that the clothing line and bags for Coach 1941 are cool, easy and fun. The newly introduced fashion house can help the brand earn a notable luxury position in the market.

Kalinsky, who is also an executive producer at Nordstrom and is working along with the Coch 1941 project, said that “In an accessory business, ready-to-wear gets to spin the fantasy about who the woman is.”

Meanwhile, Versus said that it all depends on the image the brand carries with itself in the market versus other brands like Gucci and Burberry.

It is pertinent to know that this is the 75th anniversary of the company (Coach). The company was started as a family-run-workshop in New York in 1941. They started their sales product line by making and selling leather goods.

With such frenzy fashion line, will Coach be able to gain the maximum out of their newly introduced expedition in the fashion house.
