Bungie revealed at the weekend that its online-only shooter had surpassed 1.2 million concurrent players on September 9, across both the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles.
Bungie wrote on its Twitter that Destiny 2 had more concurrent players than the PC smash hit PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, saying thank you to all who were playing the game. While it didn’t provide an exact number of how many people were playing, more than 1.2 million people playing at the same time is nothing to be scoffed at.
This is also the first time an Activision Blizzard published game has revealed concurrent figures rather than units sold. A sign of the times perhaps?
